Kim Martucci's Blog

Kim is so in love with the science of meteorology that her number one hobby is chasing tornadoes. On her most exciting excursion into tornado alley, she spotted twelve of the dangerous storms. The story she broadcast about that trip helped earn her an Emmy Award nomination as best weathercaster in New England.

Hi Kim
A friend and myself gave a baby shower last week. I am not much on streamers and banners etc... so we wanted something very simple. We went with the color scheme of the to be parents nursery and put that through out the party. For favors we ordered candy bars with a wrapper that had all the info about the shower on it and a note from the baby to the guests. We also ordered pink and brown jelly bellies to have sitting around. When the guest arrived they walked into the foyer and there was a small table with the candy bars, 6 balloons (only decoration we had) tied to a pink bunny and a pink basket (on her registry) for the guest to fill out there address on an envelpoe and place in the basket. We bought the parents-to be the thank you notes and stamped the envelopes for them and had the guests address the envelopes. I didn't mention but this was a couples shower and we had a blast becasue it was a big party.
For dinner we ahd an italian theme.
Apps were brucetta, artichoke heart dip, cheese tray, homemade bread fro dipping n olive oil and spices
Dinner was salad, garlic bread, manicotti, lasagna, chicken broccoli fettucini.
The cake was our table center piece. We did a beautiful simple cake. It was a 10 inch square (feeds 55 people) in pink and outlined in pink. I went to Michaels and bought a brwon with white polka dots wired 1 1/2 inch ribbon (whole roll) the ribbon was down the sides of the cake with a bow on top. It was the hit of the party. With the cake we served homemade ice cream balls.
I hope this helps and if you want to see pictures let me know.
